Lash Aftercare
Thank you for your appointment. Here is how to care for your lashes.
- Keep lashes dry and avoid steam for the first 24 hours.
- Do not rub, pull, or pick at your lash extensions.
- Avoid oil-based products around the eye area.
- Clean lashes gently with a lash-safe cleanser as recommended.
- Brush lashes softly with a clean spoolie when needed.
- Skip mascara unless your lash tech says it is okay for your set.
- Message me if you notice irritation or have any concerns.
Extra care note: This is general aftercare guidance and not medical advice. Reach out if you have concerns.
Refill note: For best maintenance, schedule your refill before your lashes grow out too much.

Next step
Need booking, reminders, and client communication in one place?
SuiteCal helps lash techs connect booking, reminders, deposits, and follow-up messages without juggling multiple tools.
Why lash aftercare matters for client communication
Lash clients usually remember the service, but not every care detail you mention in the room. A written aftercare card and short follow-up message reduce confusion, protect expectations, and help your lash tech process feel polished. For a broader look at what to cover during intake, see our complete onboarding checklist.
Consistent aftercare wording also helps when clients book adjacent beauty services like brows, where clear post-appointment communication matters just as much.
What to include on a lash aftercare card
- Business name and clear heading clients can spot quickly
- 6 to 8 practical aftercare reminders in short checklist format
- A simple contact line so clients know where to ask questions
- An optional refill reminder to support better rebooking habits
- A short non-medical care note written in plain language
Email vs SMS: when to use each
Use email when you want fuller aftercare wording and a cleaner record clients can revisit. Use SMS when you want fast reminders that are easy to scan on mobile right after the appointment. Either way, linking aftercare to your online booking page makes it easy for clients to rebook their next fill.
Many lash artists use both: hand out or print the card, send the email once, and keep SMS for quick reinforcement.
Tips for printing and handing out aftercare cards
- Use white paper for highest contrast and readability.
- Preview once before printing so long custom notes do not crowd the card.
- Use your browser Print action and choose Save as PDF for digital sharing.
- Keep one version near your station so each client leaves with clear instructions.
